Metro Health Receives Two Prestigious Telly Awards

Metro Health has received two prestigious Telly Awards for its work promoting the hospital and its foundation.

WYOMING, MI, July 14, 2011 /Healthcare PR News/ -- Metro Health has received two prestigious Telly Awards for its work promoting the hospital and its foundation.

Metro Health received a bronze award in the Local TV & Local Cable Promotional/Branding category for a series of 2010 television commercials promoting childbirth services, family doctors and how Metro Health makes expert care easy.

The hospital also received a bronze award for Non-Broadcast Products in the Not-for-Profit category for a 2010 video used at the Metro Health Hospital Foundation's annual Hope and Healing Luncheon to build awareness of the Foundation's philanthropic work. The video profiled three local patients with compelling stories about the outstanding care they received at Metro Health.

Nearly 11,000 entries from across the country and around the world were submitted for the 32nd Annual Telly Awards, which grants both silver and bronze awards. More than 500 accomplished industry professionals reviewed the entries, which are judged according to merit rather than competing against one another.

Metro Health's in-house production team was led by Alice St. Clair, marketing specialist and former broadcast journalist, and Jamie Barendsen, senior marketing specialist. The hospital partnered with Ken Schmidt Productions, an award-winning production company in Grand Rapids, to produce the award-winning commercials and video.

Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, video and film productions, web commercials, videos and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.

Additional winners in the 32nd season include Michigan State University, Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, Johns Hopkins Children's Center and other leading businesses, healthcare and philanthropic organizations, advertising agencies and production houses.
