4th Annual Urgent Care Awareness Week Kicks Off on Monday
Awareness about cost-effective, easily accessible healthcare options is particularly important during the current economic climate.
WARRENVILLE, IL, November 11, 2011 /Healthcare PR News/ -- Next week, Urgent care centers around the country will be celebrating the fourth annual Urgent Care Awareness Week. Awareness about cost-effective, easily accessible healthcare options is particularly important during the current economic climate. With recent reports from the Bureau of Labor Statistics citing national unemployment rates averaging around 9.1%, it's impossible to ignore that a notable number of Americans are out of work and looking for cost-effective, easily accessible healthcare options.
The goal of Urgent Care Awareness Week is to help educate communities - individuals, families, groups, primary care physicians and emergency departments - about urgent care and how urgent care centers can help serve their healthcare needs.
During November 14-20th, many urgent care centers will be participating in an awareness-building campaign focused on educating legislators about the important role urgent care can play in health care (for more information read the new industry white paper). Centers will also be offering different special programs to their communities.
About Urgent Care
Urgent care centers provide walk-in, extended-hour medical care for minor to moderate illness and injury that needs treatment immediately - but does not belong in an emergency department. With limited availability of primary care, over-crowded ERs and rising healthcare costs, urgent care is an essential care option for all communities. Get to know your neighborhood urgent care clinic. Contact your local urgent care center or visit www.ucaoa.org, scroll down, and click on "Find a Member Center Near You".
