Sound Physicians Deepens its Performance Improvement Focus and Executive Leadership
Sound Physicians announced today the promotion of Tom Hashman to Senior Vice President, Performance Improvement. The new position deepens the organization's focus on innovative performance improvement strategies for its hospital partners.
TACOMA, WA, December 18, 2011 /Healthcare PR News/ -- Sound Physicians, a leading hospitalist organization focused on driving improvements in quality, satisfaction and financial performance of inpatient healthcare delivery, today announced the promotion of Tom Hashman to Senior Vice President, Performance Improvement. The new position deepens the organization's focus on innovative performance improvement strategies for its hospital partners.
Hashman is accountable for the development, implementation, measurement and continuous improvement of the organization's performance management initiatives. Hashman will have oversight of the organization's Six Sigma and Lean-certified Clinical Operations team, which works closely with our partners in the creation of customized process improvement strategies. Under Hashman's direction, the team will further its work in developing solutions to aid hospitals as they navigate Medicare's value-based purchasing and readmissions initiatives.

Hashman joined the organization in 2005 and most recently served as vice president of operations and informatics. He established the organization's regional operations and its systematic methodology for analyzing performance and reporting results relative to Medicare and Sound Physicians' benchmarks.
Hashman holds a Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Southern California.
