During his collegiate career, David earned a Bachelor of Medicine degree at the University of Newcastle, a Bachelor of Arts degree in History at the University of New England, and a Fellowship in Emergency Medicine at the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine. He also earned a Master's degree in Human Resource Management and a Master of Business Administration degree from Macquarie University.
