FALLS CHURCH, VA, August 16, 2011 /Healthcare PR News/ -- Dr. Kelly Tomo, Pharmacist for Inova Health System, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in pharmaceutical services.
Dr. Tomo demonstrated her expertise in pharmaceutical sciences in a residency at Inova Health System, which is a leading not-for-profit health care system in the state of Virginia. Impressed with her performance, Inova offered her a full-time position as a pharmacist, a position she has held for the past seven years. Her daily responsibilities include entering orders and ensuring that patient specific medications (both oral medications and IV solutions) are correct prior to their delivery to the units. Additionally, she makes clinical decisions and prepares IV solutions.
She is proud to work at one of Inova Health System's level-one trauma centers. The campus comprises a hospital for women and children, including a neonatal intensive care unit; a hospital for general medicine; and a hospital for heart and vascular surgeries. The vascular unit recently celebrated 30 years of surgery excellence.
Dr. Tomo earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from Ohio Northern University in 2003. She exchanges knowledge with other industry professionals as a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. With a desire to help others, she is also active with Campus Crusade for Christ International and World Vision International.
