SILVER SPRINGS, MD, January 26, 2012 /Healthcare PR News/ -- Wagdi Attia, Medical Director for BEST, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in mental health.
Dr. Attia's interest in the human brain, the center of each patient, developed into a drive to enter into the field of psychiatry. A trained provider of NeuroStar TMS Therapy, a new, non-invasive treatment for depression, he is an ideal candidate for his position as medical director for BEST, a hospital that provides medical and behavioral care and mental illness treatment.
Dr. Attia is an expert in depression and bipolar disorder treatment, and as a medical director he sees, diagnoses and treats patients with mental illness. He credits his success to his work and the loving people he has encountered throughout his career. He is also an assistant professor at George Washington University, and has had work published in eight papers on arthritis.
Dr. Attia began his education in Egypt, earning an MD in Psychiatry and a Ph.D. in Immunology. Once he came to the United States, he completed a residency at Howard University, a residency in psychiatry at Southwestern University, and a fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital. In addition, he earned certification in psychiatry and neurology, and certification in the treatment of narcotic, heroin detoxification and dependence, and the psychotic spectrum. Named Top Doctor four times by the Washingtonian Magazine, he remains updated in the medical field through his affiliation with the American Psychiatric Association and the American Medical Association.
